Tate is a family of four museums which work to increase the public’s enjoyment and understanding of British art from the 16th century to the present day and of international modern and contemporary art.
Chocolate Films works frequently at Tate Britain and Tate Modern, producing content for online and exhibitions. The films are developed in collaboration with curators and experts to unlock the collection for a range of audiences.
Chocolate Films developed a series of seven films for the HLF funded ‘Animating the Archives’ project, which opened up stories from Tate’s extensive archives. We looked at the purpose of the archive and the diverse ways different artists and researchers interact with the artefacts. This film featuring experts and artists such as Bob and Roberta Smith and Barby Asante, simply asks ‘What are Archives?’
VIEW PROJECTWe have shot many events at Tate, from the annual Loud Tate festival to academic conferences. This film shows the highlights from the three-day ‘Hyperlink’ festival at Tate Modern, and features artists such as Rankin, Akala and George The Poet.
