The Science Museum is one of the major museums in central London, renowned for its devotion to science, technology and history. It’s one of the city’s major tourist attractions, boasting temporary and permanent exhibitions, large pieces of machinery from jets to old steam engines and its 3D IMAX cinema.
Chocolate Films has worked with the museum since 2012, creating video content for both online viewing and in-gallery exhibitions. Films produced for online include highlights and promotional films for the museum’s wide and varied events programme, while exhibition films have been included in both temporary and permanent exhibits.
The Science Museum regularly hosts fascinating events from monthly ‘Lates’ events which are adults-only, after-hours theme nights to day-time events for families, and Chocolate has produced content about many of them. In this film we documented Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, the first human to walk in space, as he visited the museum for the launch of the Cosmonauts: Birth of the Space Age exhibition.
Chocolate Films has created many films for the museum’s exhibitions, including a mini zombie movie shot in the museum at night. This film showcases some of the Kraszna-Krausz and First Book Award exhibition content that was seen in a temporary exhibition in the Virgin Media Space in 2015.
