The New Curiosity Shop
Come inside the only house owned by Dickens that is still open to the public. The museum, at 48 Doughty Street, London is where he penned The Pickwick Papers, Nicholas Nickleby and Oliver Twist. We were approached by the Museum to make a film that would resonate with its target audience. The ‘tour guides’ are Simon Callow and Miriam Margolyes who have both appeared in numerous adaptations of Dickens’ work and are patrons of the Museum.
Exceeding Expectations
The original commission was to produce a film that could stay as the lead piece of content on the Museum’s YouTube channel for years to come, it has had over 60,000 views on that page alone. But there was so much great material that we were also able to make a series of 60-second clips rolled out through social media. This included Simon Callow talking about Charles Dickens’ grooming kit, which was released to tie in with the Movember campaign.
